🇺🇸 June 6, 1944 — D-Day 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the brave heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy and changed the course of history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom helped save the free world from tyranny.

Because of what they endured on that historic day, generations since have enjoyed the blessings of liberty that many take for granted. They faced impossible odds, yet pressed forward so that freedom could prevail.

As we remember the men who fought, bled, and gave their lives on D-Day, we also remember the values they defended—freedom, democracy, and hope.

They truly were the Greatest Generation, and their legacy continues to inspire us today.

We owe them a debt that can never be repaid, but we can honor them by remembering their sacrifice and preserving the freedoms they secured.

Their sacrifice echoes through every generation, reminding us that freedom is precious and never free. 🇺🇸

The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival is proud to introduce our new 2026 royalty 👑🦐🦞🦀🐟🦪💙

Our beautiful 2026 Miss Queen, Sarah Hamdy, is the daughter of Irma Chacon of Belle Chasse. Joining her is our radiant Teen Queen, Lyric Davis, daughter of Tamara and Kornell Davis of Ironton, and our precious Pearl is Sophia Covington, daughter of John and Tara Covington of Belle Chasse.

These young ladies represent the heart, heritage, and spirit of Plaquemines Parish, and we could not be more excited to watch them start this incredible journey! From parades and festivals to laughter, friendships, and unforgettable moments, this year is sure to be filled with memories that will last a lifetime.

Please join us in congratulating Sarah, Lyric, and Sophia as they begin their reign as the 2026 Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival royalty! We are beyond proud and cannot wait to see all the wonderful memories they will make together while representing our community with grace, pride, and charm. 💙⚜️

Come SEA who will be crowned our new Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Royalty! We can’t wait to welcome another young woman into our beautiful Seafood Festival family — a sparkling rhinestone sisterhood built on tradition, friendship, community, and pride. Though each queen’s journey leads her in different directions, they will always remain connected by the crown, the memories, and the lifelong bond of representing Plaquemines Parish.
