Jacob Painter is the meat lab manager and head coach of the New Mexico State University Meat Judging Team. He grew up in Northwest New Mexico raising livestock to compete in junior livestock shows and judging on 4H and FFA meats and livestock judging teams. He chose to attend college in Texas, as no universities in New Mexico offered collegiate judging opportunities at that time. He attended South Plains College, where he judged livestock before transferring to Angelo State University, where he competed in collegiate meat judging while earning a degree in Food, Animal Science, and Marketing.

Charlie and Katie Snider have raised rabbits and poultry since the early 2000s, showing both Fancy and Market birds, their knowledge and appreciation of 4-H and FFA runs deep. Charlie is a Doctor of Chiropractic and served as the 55th Masked Rider for Texas Tech University, while Katie is a Gin Account Specialist with Plains Cotton Cooperative, and she is a graduate of Tarleton State University. Together they co-own Fort Worth’s Finest Rabbitry & Poultry, they raise Buff, Chocolate and Lavender Orpingtons. They have 3 children, Dawson, Laikyn and Lorelei and you can catch them most weekends at various shows or traveling around the world!

Kyle Stephens resides in Plains Texas. He farms and ranches there producing seedstock Red Angus and Simmental cattle. Kyle grew up on a diversified livestock farm and exhibited cattle, sheep and pigs. He attended Texas Tech University and studied animal science. Kyle has judged livestock shows extensively across the country over the last 25 years and thoroughly enjoys working with young people. He strongly believes in the benefits of youth livestock projects and continues to try and give back to the program that was very influential to him.

Brock Sapp grew up in the Southern San Joaquin Valley town of Bakersfield, CA. Brock is a product of an Agriculture and Oil and Gas Service family, growing up raising and showing sheep, cattle, and hogs. He was continually active in both 4H and FFA, holding office positions in both organizations as well as Livestock judging. Brock attended West Hills Community College where he was on the Livestock judging team and the College Show Team. Mr. Sapp is currently Vice President of Business Development for C&J Equipment Manufacturing. In addition, he is an Ambassador for High Noon Feeds, and a partner on a small flock of black face and cross ewes. Brock has judged sheep and goats shows from California to Ohio. Brock and his wife Darcy reside in Fort Worth, Texas, and their family of three children and seven grandchildren keep them busy with travel, sporting events and livestock shows.

Thank you to everyone who has attempted to enter the Valencia County Fair and has taken the time to let us know about any issues you encountered. We have been able to resolve some of the problems with the help of ShoWorks and are continuing to work through others. My name is Megan Miller, originally from Silver City, New Mexico. I developed a passion for the livestock industry at a young age, growing up raising and showing cattle. During high school, I became involved in livestock judging, which laid the foundation for my evaluation skills and attention to structural correctness, balance, and performance traits.

I attended Clarendon College, where I judged livestock and meats, and continued my education at West Texas A&M University as a member of the meat judging team. Throughout my collegiate career, I was fortunate to be part of teams that earned multiple national championships while completing my bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness. My background in both livestock and meat evaluation has strengthened my ability to critically analyze structure, skeletal correctness, and functional traits that directly translate to dairy cattle evaluation.

I currently reside in Muleshoe, Texas, where I manage a grow yard facility and oversee cow/calf operations. While my roots are in the beef industry, I have developed a strong appreciation for the dairy sector, with an emphasis on evaluating cattle based on udder quality, feet and leg structure, frame, and longevity.

I look forward to the opportunity to evaluate your dairy cattle.

Adam Potts was born, raised, and still lives right on the Red River in Wichita Falls, Texas, with his family, Kara, Addie, and Angler Potts. Adam grew up in the livestock industry and developed a passion for the industry at a young age, and has continued pursuing his passion through the raising of and selling show cattle throughout the United States under the firm known as “Potts Show Cattle”. Adam is the 4th Generation in his family to raise and sell competitive show cattle, and has been fortunate and blessed to be a part of several Grand Champion steers throughout the country over the past several years. One of his more recent and personal favorite accomplishments is being the founder and host of The Revival bred heifer and cow sell, which takes place the first Saturday in June at the Potts Show Cattle Headquarters. Adam has had the privilege and honor to judge cattle shows across the country at multiple state, county, and local levels.
