Have you seen “Room to Move” yet? ✨

This stunning documentary streaming on Netflix follows Jenn Freeman, a celebrated choreographer who, at 33, receives an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis that reframes everything she thought she knew about herself, her body, and her art.

We're so proud to have played a small part in this story. Back in 2022, Jenn and Sonya Tayeh brought their work-in-progress "Is It Thursday Yet?" to the Pillow Lab for a residency. Watching it evolve has been truly moving. Our Executive and Artistic Director Pamela Tatge even had the joy of attending the world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival.

You can watch the full "Inside the Pillow Lab" short film from their residency at the link in our bio!

Kristine Bendul first came to Jacob’s Pillow in 1988 as part of Boston Ballet’s summer program. Her career would go on to span ballet, Broadway, and ballroom, including performances in the Broadway productions of Movin’ Out and Cinderella, and groundbreaking work as part of the country’s first gender-neutral professional ballroom partnership.

Years later, her connection to the Pillow came full circle. In 2022, "Hustle at the Pillow," which Kristine wrote, was performed as part of the Festival.

After losing both of her parents, Kristine began thinking more intentionally about the future, and she wanted her plans to reflect what mattered most to and shaped her life.

That is why she chose to include Jacob's Pillow in her will.

By joining our community of planned giving donors, you too can help ensure that places like Jacob’s Pillow continue to inspire and transform audiences and dancers — today, tomorrow, and far into the future.

For the first time in seven years, returns to the Pillow! 🙌

Founded in 1954, Paul Taylor Dance Company is called "one of the most exciting, innovative, and delightful dance companies” by and has continuously grown in into one of the world's leading dance organizations under Michael Novak's artistic direction.

We cannot wait for their mixed program in the Ted Shawn Theatre — including "Esplanade" (1975), "Brandenburgs" (1988), and "Company B" (1991).

Inside the Pillow Lab: slowdanger 🎬

In this Pillow Lab residency in the new Doris Duke Theatre, slowdanger developed "STORY BALLET," a piece featuring an intergenerational cast, holographic projections, and live sound.

The work reimagines Hector Berlioz’s 1830 Symphonie Fantastique and explores mental health, escapism, and the question: what holds us together?

The work "STORY BALLET" is also made possible by the generous support of the Eisemann Edge Initiative.

Festival 2026 will be kicking off with and his collective in the Doris Duke Theatre!

Inspired by the rapid-fire footwork of boxing, the African American jazz dance style Lindy Hop, Gaga movement language, and nightlife culture, "Touch of RED" examines the way Black men are perceived and perceive themselves in contemporary society.

Not only will Shamel Pitts | TRIBE perform week one of our summer festival, but Pitts will also receive the Jacob’s Pillow Men Dancers Award.

Tickets are on sale now for "Touch of RED," June 24-28. 🔗
