Day 2 of the 2026 Beaufort Oyster Festival brought cold temperatures and a rainy Lowcountry Sunday, but that didn’t stop the festival from carrying on.

A dedicated group of locals and visitors made their way to the waterfront to enjoy oysters, warm food, and live music throughout the day. Vendors kept things moving, music filled the park, and those who came out were able to take their time, chat with friends, and soak in the laid-back festival atmosphere.
Even with the chill in the air, the spirit of the Oyster Festival was on full display — good food, friendly faces, and a community that shows up when it counts.

Another Beaufort Oyster Festival weekend is officially wrapped, and we’re already looking forward to next year.

Day 1 Recap – Beaufort Oyster Festival (January 17, 2026)

The 6th Annual Beaufort Oyster Festival kicked off in style Saturday along the waterfront at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, bringing together locals and visitors to celebrate the rich Lowcountry oyster culture and community spirit. 

The day began bright and early with the Oyster Boogie 5K at 8 a.m., as runners and walkers of all ages took to downtown streets and the scenic route through historic Beaufort to kickstart festival weekend with energy and good vibes. 

By 10 a.m., the festival grounds were buzzing. Crowds lined up for fresh, locally harvested oysters — from raw on the half shell to grilled and fried creations — alongside a variety of other Lowcountry seafood favorites and tasty treats from local food vendors. 

Live music set the tone all day long:
• Southbound 17 turned up the energy with country and Americana to open the stage,
• Black Lion Reggae brought laid-back waterfront rhythms through midday,
• The Deckhands Band closed out the evening with coastal rock favorites that had people dancing, swaying, and soaking up the Lowcountry vibe. 

Festival guests enjoyed generous pours from Shellring Aleworks and other local beverage booths while exploring displays from area organizations and educators who shared insights on oyster ecology and sustainable fishing practices. 

From live music and running shoes to oysters and ocean breezes, Day 1 delivered a perfect mix of celebration, community, and coastal flavor — a fantastic start to what’s shaping up to be another memorable Beaufort tradition. 

Tomorrow is a rain or shine event!

What a way to kick off Oyster Festival weekend! 🏃‍♀️🦪

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up, laced up, and brought the energy to the Oyster Boogie 5K. From seasoned runners to first-timers, the vibes were high and the smiles were everywhere.
