Calling all adventurers, forest wanderers, and whimsical souls 🧝‍♀️🌿

A day of fantasy and wonder is coming to the beautiful Locust Grove Historic Site in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 27th.

A celebration of revelry, community and craft where you can wander through an artisan market while listening to live music from a wandering bard🪉

Find yourself watching one of the many craft demonstrations, receiving a tarot reading, meeting a fantasy author, or roaming the enchanted grounds of the Grove to find their hidden fairy houses 🔮🧚

For game oriented folks there will be a Magic: The Gathering draft, and both kids and adult beginner-friendly to experienced Dungeons & Dragons adventures held by both Meadow and Muse and Mana Potion - where you can jump into a story and meet new people along the way ⚔️

All are encouraged to wear fantasy or renaissance themed garb 🧝 (with a costume contest and prizes woven into the day) ✨

There will be an opportunity to have a photographer so capture you and your adventuring party, and food to keep you nourished as you explore. 🥔🧺

The grounds are accommodating for a range of mobility needs. We truly wanted to create something immersive, welcoming, and filled with wonder for all ages 🍄 (under 16 free)

Learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons in a welcoming, beginner-focused workshop 🐉
D&D offers an experience collaborative storytelling, creativity, exploration, and a sense of shared adventure 🔮

🎲 We’ll be covering the basics, character creation, and a short guided game for adult beginners (whether you’ve never played before, or you’ve sat at a table a few times but still felt unsure how it all works) to get a clear understanding of the basic system and gameplay possibilities.

This workshop helps you build confidence in understanding the game to continue your adventures 🧙🏻🧌🧚🏽‍♂️

You’ll have space to ask questions, try things out, and get comfortable in a supportive, low-pressure small group setting.
We’ll close with a short, guided play experience, where you can try stepping into your character through making choices, interacting with others, and discovering just how fun and rewarding it can be! 📜🗝️✨

A day of fantasy and wonder is coming to the beautiful Locust Grove Historic Site in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 27th.

Hear ye, hear ye! Shire at the Grove -

Some of your *favorite* upstate NY nerds are putting something really special together.

Here's what I think is really cool about our event:
1. Locust Grove is a beautiful space, with expansive grounds and gardens, a pet cemetery, and hundreds of years of history that all my locals should know about (but don't, and that's crazy)
The venue will be showcasing its enchanting fairy houses, and sporting some garden remodels we can't wait to brag about.
2. We care A LOT about accessibility. This will be ticketed for adults, but hobbits under 16 are free. Having a little magic in your life should not cost a fortune.
On the other side of accessible, the venue is easy on people with mobility needs, and we encourage you to join us.
3. If you're scared to ttrpg, or haven't found people to play with, this is your moment.
We will have games of Magic & DnD happening throughout, and beginner opportunities for those interested in learning.
4. The market will showcase a select group of artisans and makers. There will be something for everyone.
(The vendor list is a post for another day, as it warrants its own special attention)
5. A handful of wonderful local authors will be available with books, as books make every event a better event.
(This too, will have its own spotlight)
6. Craft demonstrations, live music, food and cosplay will be enjoyed throughout the day. We encourage attendees to embrace their inner w***h or wizard and go all out. Prizes await.

Some of you have known us through our other offerings over the years, and while Etheric Eye has completed its cycle, in its place, something else has been growing.

Connor and I have both been shaped by fantasy and imagination since we were young. Connor learned to play Dungeons & Dragons from his father as a child and has been a game master since he was ten; a writer, artist, and lifelong world-builder. I’ve spent the last six years holding women’s circles and nature-magic gatherings, creating spaces rooted in ritual, connection, and enchantment. We’re both readers, tabletop players, fantasy lovers… and people who believe magic can be created together 💫

Over the years, we’ve co-created themed gatherings, parties, and even designed and decorated our own enchanted wedding by hand. We found ourselves returning to the same spark: bringing people into story, wonder, and community.

So today, I’m sharing that we’re stepping onto a new path together as Meadow & Muse ✨ An enchanted event experience devoted to mysticism, immersive fantasy, and meaningful connection through ticketed events (and opportunities to help you host your own gatherings). We appreciate your support as this chapter unfolds slowly and intentionally, with more shared as it comes into form.
