Steer Tag-In is this Saturday, September 12 from 7:00-9:00am. If your steer is tagged for Majors, you are not required to bring your steer on Saturday. You must take a picture of the steer ear tag and email it along with the exhibitor name to [email protected] by noon on Friday. If we don’t receive an email you must be present on Saturday or you will not be able to participate in the 2027 Livestock Show.

Matagorda County Fair will host our 1st Annual Build Off on October 17, 2026. This is open to all counties and teams must be 3rd Grade - 12th Grade and must be 8 years old to participate.

Attention students 8th - 12th grade. We will have our fist Junior Fair Board Meeting, Sunday, August 23 at 3:00pm. It will be held in the Multi-Purpose Building located on the fairgrounds. Forms can be found on our webpage www.matagordacountyfair.com. They will also be available at the meeting. The fee to join is $20.00. We hope to see you all there.

The Matagorda County fair was first organized in 1944 as an outgrowth of the Bay City FFA Livestock Show.

After that the office will closed while undergoing some renovations.
I will be checking emails daily and available by phone 979-487-4680.
All exhibitor checks that were not picked up were mailed on May 21.

There are still several exhibitor checks available for pick up in the Fair Office.
Office hours for May
8:00am - 1:00pm Monday - Thursday On Tuesday, May 12, the office will be open until 6:00pm
Office will be closed May 25 - May 29
Any checks left in the office after May 21 will be mailed to the exhibitor. If you have any questions, please call us at 979-245-2454

Auction checks will be released on Monday, April 13
▪️They will be available for pickup at the Fair Office from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
▪️If someone other than the exhibitor or parent will be picking up a check, they must bring a letter stating who is authorized to pick it up.
▪️If you need to make arrangements to pick up checks outside of these times, please call the office at 979-245-2454
