I am so grateful for our community! This last weekend we rowed to bring awareness around mental health and raise money for Teen Challenge. We may have come up quite short on the meters(385,451), we raised some dough!!! We raised $4,430 for MN Adult & Teen Challenge Brainerd Campus. These funds will go to help those at Teen Challenge learns healthy ways to help with their struggles against mental health and addiction. Again, I cannot thank our community enough!!

Come join us tomorrow for the Million Meters Row!!! We have time slots available from 9am to 6pm! Swing on by, get a row in, and take a dip in the dunk tank! Friends and families welcome! Kids of all ages are welcome! Hope to see you!

The Million Meters Row is a rowing machine fundraiser for individuals, teams, and families to help bring awareness around mental health. I, David Quisberg, have struggled with anxiety and depression for many years, and with our community’s struggle being so severe, I couldn’t stand on the sideline anymore. I had to do something. Since I have a passion in fitness, our gym decided to put our bodies, competitive spirit, and space to use in a fun event. On average, there are 123 suicides per day in the US. It is the 10th leading case of death in the US. Almost 1 in every 10 high school students has made an attempt on their own life. This is unacceptable. So, let’s work together to make sure everyone knows that they have a choice. They have a voice. There is hope.

All money raised will be going to MN Adult & Teen Challenge - Brainerd campus!

For more than 25 years, I (David) have struggled with mental health, specifically anxiety and depression. In my late teens and early twenties, I numbed myself by consuming alcohol on a daily basis. With the help of God, my family and close group of friends, I have now been sober for 11+ years. Had I not sought the help of those close to me, who knows where I’d be today. I am not foolish enough to say I did this. This was the power of the Holy Spirit and those people close and dear to me. That is why MN Adult & Teen Challenge is so important to me. It is a place where so many people can find the help they need when they might not otherwise find it at home. Again, please help us support our community in this battle against mental health! 💪

You are not alone.
You can help!

These are two HUGE components around mental health. We need to know that we are not alone in what we are struggling with. There are a lot more people struggling with Mental Health issues than you may realize. SO, please, do NOT think you’re a burden. You are loved and needed. Please do not say you’re “fine” if you’re actually screaming, crying, or breaking down inside. You are worth it.

Sometimes, all you need to do is listen. Sometimes, all you need to do is be there. Let someone know you care for them today. Don’t brush it off. And remind them(or yourself) that it’s ok to not feel ok.

And did you realize that nearly 20% of the people struggling with a mental health issue use alcohol or drugs to numb themselves?! That is a lot of people! Thankfully, MN Adult and Teen Challenge is aware of this and they provide a program for those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Their mission is to “assist men, women and teens in gaining freedom from chemical addictions and other life-controlling problems by addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.”

Help us, help those at MN Adult & Teen Challenge as we come together to row for awareness and raise money for those in need of help and seek it at MNTC. We can do this together.
