Spooky Science Saturday A FREE community event held on the grounds of Kingman Museum, Leila Arboretum, and the Kaleidoscope Admission is free ($1 hayride tickets).

Join us for a FREE community event, held annually on the 4th Saturday of October (National Making a Difference Day) from 11am to 3pm, on the grounds of Kingman Museum, Leila Arboretum, and the Kaleidoscope Garden Garden. Attendees are encouraged to "Make a Difference" in our community by bringing a donation for a selected charity (varies by year). Explore 35+ hands-on science stations and interact

Our hearts are with the Osborne Family today as they lay Teresa and Kaiden to rest. Both mother and son were active members of the Spooky Science Saturday Organizing Team, sharing their creativity, kindness, and support throughout the planning process. Teresa and Kaiden were a stellar team, actively making a difference in our community and will be missed greatly.

‼️The planning committee is disappointed to report that we will not be hosting a Spooky Science Saturday event this year. These last 18 months, while challenging, have allowed us to reflect on the goals of our past events and to focus on how we can leverage greater enthusiasm for educational opportunities into the future.

Spooky Science Saturday began 14 years ago, bringing together hundreds of community partners and volunteers to engage local families during the National Make a Difference Day campaign with free hands-on science opportunities. Over the years, we served over 15,000 youth and their families with chemistry experiments, animal encounters, games, exhibits, simulations, art activities, and more. Battle Creek, you are amazing!

Please stay tuned! We look forward to working with all of our great partners again soon, if not at Spooky, perhaps at a new and entirely different event that reaches the youth in our community. As always, we welcome your feedback and ideas. Thank you! 🎃🌿

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, and to protect the health and safety of our community, Spooky Science Saturday 2020 has been officially cancelled.

With that said, our planning committee is already looking forward to continuing to build science literacy in our community during a 2021 event. We are excited to be using this break to evaluate all aspects of Spooky Science Saturday in order to provide an engaging program that serves our families even better. We would love to have your input and are looking for new members of our planning committee. If you would like to be a part of our team, please reach out to [email protected].
