We will be closing up at 4 PM! The carnival will be open until then. Attraction availability based on weather. It’s raining pretty heavily on-site right now. We’re sorry everyone. Please drive safe home.

Admission will be FREE for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Parking will remain at normal rate. F-35 is on display near the show control point.

The Air Force Band “Roots in Blue” will have to cancel their performance but we will press forward with the rest of the activities at this moment!

Unfortunately, we will have to call the air show for the day. We were hoping ceilings would improve but it’s starting to look like we’ll see more of this. We cannot safely fly in these conditions.

With that said, our evening activities are going to continue as planned. Stay tuned for updates.

Here’s our schedule for today, the final day of the 2026 Field of Flight Celebrating America’s 250th!

Now, as for our air show…we are waiting for an improvement in ceilings. We’ll go with the flow but won’t have a flight schedule for today. Essentially, acts will prep and fly based on conditions with a priority on the F-35.

⚠️ The City of Battle Creek, Battle Creek Police Department, and Battle Creek Fire Department are sharing the following update from the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival. ⚠️

The Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival shared the following changes to their planned schedule for today, Sunday, July 5:
🎆 Event gates and parking will now open at 11 a.m.
🎆 The air show will now start at noon
🎆 The pyrotechnics portion of the air show is canceled for today

Since the pyrotechnics portion of the air show has been canceled and crews have already set up part of the show in advance, crews will be setting off the pyrotechnics that were already set up this morning.

➡️ Neighbors and visitors in the Battle Creek area may expect to hear three loud booms/bangs around 10 a.m., as crews set off the already-set-up pyrotechnics at the Battle Creek Executive Airport. There is no need to be alarmed and no threat to the community.

A few quick updates! Pyro and a Parking Lot is Closed. Please read!

First, there will be no pyro in today’s show due to conditions. Some of their boxes out there got pretty wet. They had a small part of the field built before it had to be called. So, just a heads up, there will be some explosions here soon. What was set up has to be expended before it gets more wet.

Second, ALL GENERAL PARKING TODAY WILL BE OFF HELMER ROAD ONLY!! BluFish lot off South Airport Road will be CLOSED. Please everyone plan on entering off Helmer.

We have some important updates:
First, there will be no balloons this morning due to the rain.

Second, we are pushing back our start times today. Gates and parking will open at 11 AM with the air show starting at 12 noon! WIN 98.5 Country

The Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k by Cereal City Athletics (cerealcityathletics) is being ran as we speak. If you can, head to some spectating points to support the runners or do it from the comfort of your own house if they are passing by. Please be mindful of the runners and be mindful of road closures.

Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k by Cereal City Athletics is going to kick off soon! Please be mindful of runners in the areas on map below. Remember, some road closures are in place. You can come out and cheer on runners along the route.

Standby for word on morning balloons though it is raining plus more showers are in the area. Even some lightning to the south and southeast though we anticipate that staying away.

The Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k is headed to a neighborhood near you on Sunday, July 5th beginning at 7 am! We would love your support of the event! Consider the following:

💦 Setting out a sprinkler if your home is along the course
📣 Make signs and stand along the course to cheer runners on

🎶 Play motivational music along the course as runners pass by
👉 Put signs or chalk art along the route to encourage runners
