For the past 21 years, the Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation has partnered with Club South Runners to produce the Mardi Gras Mambo. The race is an official qualifier for the Crescent City Classic and was named Runner's World magazine's "Race of the Month" in February 2012! Formed in 1994, Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to create a positive economic

impact in the local community by assisting in securing and staging statewide, regional, national and international sporting competitions and special events in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
