Fifolet Halloween Festival

Fifolet Halloween Festival Show Us Your BOOs at the Fifolet Halloween Festival! Festival events are scheduled during the week leading up to Halloween weekend.

The Fifolet Halloween Festival is a collaborative event, led by the 10/31 Consortium, in partnership with local organizations and businesses. The main event is the Baton Rouge Halloween Parade on Fifolet Saturday. The festival is kicked off by the King and Queen of the Halloween Parade at the 10/31 Consortium's Ghostly Gala. Fifolet (fee fo lay) - According to Cajun folklore, a fifolet is a bright

light, seen often in the swamp, gently floating and beckoning all to follow. Some say it is a spirit, which may or may not be evil, meant to misdirect or disorient those who try to follow it as a perceived point of safety. Treasure hunters believe a fifolet will lead you to treasure. Just hide and watch to see if it hovers over a certain place. Come back in the daylight with a shovel and you may find a treasure. Beware, many have followed the fifolet, but few have returned. Source: themoonlitroad.com

The Fifolet Festival is presented by the 10/31 Consortium, a Baton Rouge, LA based 501c3 non-profit organization established in July 2010. A club for Halloween enthusiasts, the 10/31 Consortium hosts several Halloween-themed events throughout the year, leading up to the festival. The organization is dedicated to children and the preservation of this autumn tradition by raising money for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, collecting food for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, collecting costumes for children in the Big Buddy Program, as well as working with area neighborhoods to promote safe Trick or Treat practices. πŸŽƒ THE BIG DAY IS HERE! πŸ‘»
After weeks of candy, costumes, and community spirit, it all comes down to tonight β€” Halloween night! πŸ•ΈοΈ

As you head out for a night of tricks, treats, and fun, remember a few quick safety tips:
✨ Make sure costumes include reflective strips or lights to stay visible.
πŸ•―οΈ Carry a flashlight or glow stick.
🚸 Watch for little ones crossing the street β€” excitement runs high tonight!

It’s shaping up to be the first chilly night of fall, and with no rain in the forecast, it’s the perfect evening for a little spooky fun. πŸ‚πŸ’€

From all of us at The 1031 Consortium and the Fifolet Halloween Festival, thank you, Baton Rouge, for another season of smiles, generosity, and Halloween fun for everyone! πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ’™

We couldn’t let Halloween season end without celebrating one of our brightest stars β€” Alvarez! πŸŒŸπŸ“Έ

πŸŽƒβœ¨ With just one week left in the Halloween season, we want to shine a well-deserved spotlight on an incredible person and longtime supporter of the 1031 Consortium and the Fifolet Festival β€” Teresa Alvarez of Teresa Alvarez Photography! πŸ“ΈπŸ’œ

For over 10 years, Teresa has shared her time, talent, and heart with our organization. If you’ve ever seen beautiful photos of our events, parades, or smiling faces online, there’s a very good chance Teresa was behind the camera! She’s at nearly every event β€” camera in hand, smile on her face, and kindness in her heart.

πŸ‘‘ Fun fact: Teresa reigned as Festival Queen in 2019 β€” none other than Barbarella, Queen of the Galaxy! ✨✨

Teresa’s warmth and positivity make everyone around her feel amazing, and that shines through in every photo she takes. Her work captures not just moments, but the true spirit of community.

From all of us at the 1031 Consortium and the Fifolet Festival β€” thank you, Teresa, for capturing the beauty of our people and our city. You truly embody Community, Courage, and Creativity! πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ’š

Source: themoonlitroad.com The Fifolet Festival is presented by the 10/31 Consortium, a Baton Rouge based 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to giving the kids of our area a safe and happy Halloween. We believe that children should not have to leave their own neighborhoods to experience the joys of Trick or Treat and that doing so can be detrimental to the strength of the community. Neighborhood events create a sense of togetherness and goodwill while also building safer communities for our children. We are building stronger and safer neighborhoods one Trick or Treat at a time.
