Baby's Last Ride Synopsis: When his daughter cancels a life to the nursing home to visit his wife, sharp-witted PJ, a stubborn man in his late seventies, decides he’s waited long enough. He retrieves “Baby”, his beloved red 1983 Mercedes, from the garage and drives himself to see his wife Eleanor who is now non-verbal and living with dementia. At the home, he trades affectionate barbs with Moll, the dry-humoured healthcare assistant who knows his dry humour all too well. With Eleanor in tow, PJ embarks on a quiet mission: a spontaneous trip to Tramore, the seaside town where their love once bloomed. As they revisit the beach of their youth, PJ tries to reach the woman he still adores through the fog of memory, hoping the rhythm of the waves and the familiar sea air might stir something within her. Baby’s Last Ride is a tender, gently humorous meditation on enduring love, ageing, and the quiet rebellions we make in the name of the heart.
