Due to the forecasted weather and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our community, Discover Bastrop has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Mardi Gras Ball and Festival.

Each year, our Mardi Gras celebration brings visitors, bands, vendors, and performers from across Texas and beyond, including groups traveling from Louisiana. With many of our participants on the road or preparing to travel, we felt it was important to provide clear and timely notice and to avoid putting anyone in unsafe conditions.

While we know this is incredibly disappointing, the safety of our attendees, vendors, performers, volunteers, and staff must always come first.

All Mardi Gras Ball tickets and vendor fees will be fully refunded. Refunds will be processed automatically, and no additional action is required at this time. Please allow a few business days for the refund to appear.

At this time, there are no plans to reschedule the 2026 Mardi Gras Ball or Festival. We will share any future updates if plans change.

We are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support that make Mardi Gras in Downtown Bastrop so special, and we look forward to celebrating together again in the future.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

The region is home to the Courir de Mardi Gras, a centuries-old Fat Tuesday celebration where masked riders on horseback travel the countryside, singing, dancing, and gathering ingredients for a communal gumbo. This rich heritage, passed down through generations, keeps the spirit of Cajun culture alive.

With its history, music, and warm hospitality, Evangeline Parish embodies the true spirit of joie de vivre, making them the perfect partners in bringing an authentic Cajun experience to our Texas celebration! โšœ๏ธ๐ŸŽถ
