Thought you all might like to join in praying for peace today!
"In answer to the Holy Father's call to prayer and penance today, I've composed this prayer, if you might like to use it:
⚜️ Holy Lady, Queen of Peace,
by the delegation of your Son
you reign over Heaven and Earth in peace.
In peace the angels sing your greatness,
in peace the stars pursue their course,
in peace the soil blooms and tree branches sing.
By your prayers and sovereign authority
grant peace to us also, your children,
who cry out to you in this time of need.
Saints have taught that peace is the fruit of justice;
Mirror of Justice, grant us peace.
Patriarchs have taught that peace is the fruit of worship;
Handmaid of the Lord, grant us peace.
Prophets have taught that peace is the fruit of repentance;
Our Lady of Sorrows, grant us peace.
Apostles have taught that peace is the sister of mercy;
Mother of Mercy, grant us peace.
Your Son teaches that peace is His gift;
Full of Grace, grant us peace.
As your Son preached peace to those far off
and peace to those who are near,
we pray first for peace in our inner selves,
and then for peace in all the troubled regions of the world.
As Abraham pleaded for S***m,
and Moses for the Israelites,
so do you please pray for us, dearest Mother,
that the hand of God
be not outstretched for our destruction,
but opened instead to grant the gift of peace.
And as we honor your queenship today,
teach us that your wish is peace,
your command is peace,
your law is peace,
your reign is peaceful,
and that those who hate peace
cannot enter the kingdom of your Son,
who is the Prince of Peace.
Rather, blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called the children of God.
Seat of Wisdom, guide us now.
Queen of Peace, pray for us. Amen ⚜️"
