As many of you know, one big reason we opened the Club was to help adults make new adult friends through real connections and shared interests. Recently, Cat was chatting with a friend when they wondered together: what if there were club and group fairs, kind of like job fairs or the first day on campus, but for finding your people in Barre?
So here we are. On Friday, October 23, the Club will host Your People Are Out There! A club fair in which we’re inviting fraternal, social, and service groups (basically any group that brings people together), to set up a station so folks can stop by, learn what you’re about, and maybe find their next place to belong.
This is for existing groups, and for new ones you or your friends have been dreaming about starting. Think volunteering, gardening, writing, food and drink, crafting, culture, books, adventuring, gaming, parenting, movies, networking… most anything goes. Meetup spots can be anywhere in or around Barre, not just at our place.
If you’ve been dreaming about a group and don’t have a place, we can talk, but the real focus is helping people find each other.
Free entry, open to the public, cash bar. About a dozen groups have RSVP’d, and there’s room for more. Reach out if you’d like us to save you a spot.
