This has been a year of unbelievable grief and loss for our team. Both the venue owner and myself have had close deaths in the family on top of other difficult and draining life events that are either not mine to share or would be unreasonable to burden you with.
In light of these circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Weekends of Whimsy festival. This event has always been meant to be a labor of love, a celebration of creativity, community, and joy. It is a time when we come together to embrace the magic of imagination and share in the beauty of artistic expression. However, in our current state, we are unable to give the festival the energy, focus, and care that it deserves.
We know how much Weekends of Whimsy means to many of you, as it does to us. This festival has always been more than just an event; it is a gathering of kindred spirits, a space where we can be our truest selves and find connection in our shared passions. We do not take this decision lightly, and we deeply regret any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.
Please know that this is not the end of Weekends of Whimsy. Our hope is to return in the future, when we are better able to honor the spirit of the festival and the community we cherish. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue nurturing your creative spirits, to find whimsy in the everyday, and to support one another as we navigate these challenging times.
Thank you for your understanding, your compassion, and your continued support. We are grateful for the love and light you bring into our lives, and we look forward to the day when we can gather together again in celebration.
