Boos and Brews brings together the best of a regional craft b**r festival and a classic autumn block party. With FREE admission for everyone, the weekend features an outdoor movie night, local food trucks, small business vendors, live music, family-friendly activities, community trick-or-treating, and a late-night 21+ Halloween party after dark.

It is not everyday (and certainly not everywhere) that there is a community with as much heart, purpose, and passion to commit in the shared mission of having fun, being safe, and enjoying life. BUT, if you walk into the Village of Barboursville you will see it 24/7/365. It’s a testament to the fine folks of our Village as well as those who devote their lives to serving it.

We are proud of to be apart of Barboursville’s community activities that empower anyone from all walks of life to participate in that shared experience.

Yet, more than anything we are inspired by all who take time to live and be present in our wonderful home town.

Congrats BVILLE, you deserve it, and that means everyone who attended, lives in the town, and spends their lives working to make it better…❤️

From the Chief's Desk:

I just want to take a moment to point out what a special place the Village of Barboursville is to our area. I don't think there are many places in this country where you can gather 20,000 people, have a massive parade, several live concerts, a street dance, a carnival, food trucks, packed restaurants, for the entire weekend, and not have a single major incident.

Our officers did not respond to one fight. There were no "teen take overs". There were no incidents of disorderly conduct, no criminal destruction of property, no reported larcenies.

As Chief, I'm going to point first to our officers who were out in force, not as militant marauders, but as a personal presence walking on foot, engaging the public, and taking time to help people when needed. They kept people safe, and not a single arrest was made related to the Festival.

But that was just a small percentage of people helping to make this event go off without a hitch. There was an army of city employees who worked from sun-up to sun-down to the early morning hours. There were business owners who went above and beyond to make things run smoothly. There were volunteers who gave their time to fill in the needed spaces.

All of this points to our community, and whether people realize this or not, Barboursville is a special place. It's one of the rare places in our nation that still provides small town community and big town class.

I think that's something worth protecting and defending.

Today, we’re highlighting the journey of our headliner, Kindred Valley! 🎸🌾 Their indie folk roots started back in 2020 when three Marshall University friends—Blake Lacy, Noah Freeman, and Brett McCoy—started writing together in Huntington. By 2021, the band grew into the powerhouse they are today with the addition of Kaden Salmons and husband-and-wife duo Rachael and Jadon Hayes! 🙌✨
