2026 has been good to Our Fire Department. We don’t like to brag…but we cannot contain Our excitement! First of the year We were awarded the Wildland Suppression Kit Grant valued around $15,000 in gear, tools and accessories. The second grant was the Rural Services Block Grant to finish the interior phase of Our new station valued at $90,000. The Block grant was awarded July 13th by the Governor in a special ceremony at the State Capitol. This was the second time receiving this grant. We were awarded this past week a like new tanker truck from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division. We also received $20,000 this month in Act 833 funding and purchased an additional used forestry truck as a backup vehicle bringing our total fleet to 1 brush truck, 2 forestry trucks, 2 pumpers and 1 water tanker. We appreciate everyone involved that helped make this all possible and to Our dedicated volunteer firefighters 🚒 If everthing goes as planned and the $120,000 FEMA grant pending is approved we will update Our structural turnouts and SCBA gear.
