A MESSAGE FROM Holidazzle - Bancroft IA
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." — Seneca
For more than ten years, the first Saturday in December, Holidazzle has been a staple in our community. Holidazzle kicked off in 2014 with a mission to help fund a new scoreboard at Memorial Field. Over the decade that followed, that spark grew into a lasting legacy. Seed money from Holidazzle unlocked grants for endless improvements at Memorial Field—including new fencing, fresh paint, stadium maintenance, and a brand-new concession stand. Most recently, it helped bring new loungers to the pool, with a new shade structure arriving next season.
Beyond the brick and mortar, Holidazzle brought us magic: the wide-eyed wonder of a child sitting with Santa, the excitement of our annual silent auction, the laughter of the adult reindeer games, and unforgettable time spent with neighbors, friends, and family in support of Bancroft. The charm of Holidazzle was in its magic, but its true power was always the community that gathered around it.
After long and thoughtful discussion, our crew has decided it is time for the lights to dim on Holidazzle. Ending a tradition doesn't mean ending the joy; it simply makes room for new traditions to bloom.
The future of our community is in wonderful hands. A new non-profit, Heart of the Border, has formed with the vision, energy, and readiness to keep that spirit of generosity alive. Be sure to follow their page as they begin planning new events for us all to enjoy.
Holidazzle can become a new, fresh event — and we want YOU to be part of that!
Whether you’re part of a group, a business, or simply an individual with an idea, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Reach out, and we can help connect you with others who share the same passion and vision for keeping community traditions going. Let’s bring some new energy, new ideas, and new life to a Christmas celebration.
Thank you to all the local businesses for your unwavering support, to everyone who came out to enjoy the fun, and to the countless volunteers who gave their time to make each Holidazzle so memorable. We look forward to stepping back, watching, and supporting the incredible new adventures ahead for Bancroft.
