CCB Faithful,
Since 2013, Charm City Bluegrass has been honored to bring you the best in bluegrass, folk, Americana, and 'that ain't bluegrass'. We've also taken great pride in partnering with beloved local businesses that became staples of the festival and part of our greater family. UNION Craft Brewing, The Local Oyster, Bark Barbecue Co., Mother's Federal Hill Grille, The 8x10, and so many others became part of the fabric of the Charm City Bluegrass Festival.
We've been honored to receive recognition by the International Bluegrass Music Association, Baltimore magazine, and so many other great media channels throughout the years. Possibly one of our favorites was rammin and jammin an entire bluegrass band in a car with Traffic Jam Jimmy (RIP) and pickin tunes while he drove around Baltimore.
That leads us to the future. What's next?
In short, Charm City Bluegrass Festival is taking an indefinite hiatus. As a small independent team, we simply don't have the resources to produce the festival this year.
However, we are internally working on a plan to figure out how the festival could potentially continue in 2026 or beyond. We will keep you updated on any developments on this front!
In closing, we ask that if you love music festivals and in-person entertainment, make a plan to attend and support them, especially independent producers. Here in the greater Baltimore/Maryland area, we ask that you go support Baltimore Old Time Music Festival, Hot August Music Festival, Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, DelFest, The Ramble Festival, and others to keep the music and good vibes flowing!
We know times are tough. Inflation hurts. And it feels like we're becoming more digitally oriented by the day. But we ask that if you enjoy in-person events, keep music festivals and other live entertainment experiences in mind and in your budget.
For now, we're not saying goodbye, but see ya later! And thank you for the past 11 years, it's truly been a magical ride that we couldn't have done without you.
