Event Tech Event Tech is your one stop resource for staging and structures, audio, lighting and video solutions in the Mid Atlantic. It started in the basement. Why?

Eric Maynard, as a 15 year old, improvised pyrotechnics for his older brother's cover band, M Street. Because it was cool! Since you can't set off explosives everywhere, he eventually bought 6 PAR cans and that was the first light show. Eric's dad would drive him to gigs in the family's Oldsmobile - trunk full of gear, stands wedged in the front. Eric's interests quickly expanded into sound systems leading to the original company name, Audio Assault Systems. Incorporated in 1986 just in time to cash the company's first check, Event Tech continued to operate out of the Maynard's basement and, eventually, the garage until 1993. To give his parents their house back, Eric and the equipment both moved into a commercial space in 1993 on New Ridge Road in Hanover, MD. By 2009, the warehouse was bursting at the seams, so we moved to our current headquarters on Brandon Woods Boulevard. In 2014, we really overhauled things: from our staff to our software, all aspects of Event Tech were proactively improved, while we sought out the best ways to connect with our customers. Another night to remember on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC!

From concept and engineering to fabrication and installation, this was one seriously cool project. With the street closing at 7 PM and a show to build from absolutely nothing, our team had their work cut out for them.

But a little rain (okay, a LOT of rain) wasn’t going to stop us!

Our incredible crew spent the entire night battling the elements to bring this massive structure to life, and the finished product was worth every soaking wet minute.

Huge shoutout to everyone who made this one happen. These are the kinds of crazy projects we live for! 💪🏻

We are seeking a full-time Warehouse Lighting Lead to manage the technical readiness and operation of our lighting department.

This is a warehouse based position at our Abingdon, MD location focused on engineering, building, and QC’ing lighting systems for a wide range of live productions.

The right person has a strong knowledge of lighting fixtures, networking, power distribution, and MA3 systems, along with strong leadership skills and attention to detail.
