The annual PRIDE Festival began, and for many years, was held here in our streets. The bars, restaurants, retail merchants, and residents all participated, had fun, and enjoyed the community spirit of it all. s have been very different for us all! Many businesses have closed, but… many new ones have opened! Many residents have moved away… but many new have joined us. Lisa Chaplin Suit, an ally of the Gay community from a young age, worked in Mt. Vernon originally at The Mt Vernon Stable & Saloon and later at Central Bar as a bartender and the Event Manager. She booked the Dance Stage at PRIDE for many years, organized a music conference & festival that ran for 10 years, organized events and began a retail marketing group in Fells Point when moving to Baltimore in 2000 so event planning is nothing new to her!
