Team Bayou Buggy - 2017 Redbull Soapbox Derby Bakersfield bring the spice to the 2017 Soapbox Derby. Come join us as we race our way to the top of the podium. We love eating crawfish and racing cars.

Figured why not build a soapbox, drink beer and have fun. Come out and support us in Los Angeles, August 20th at Elysian Park by Dodgers Stadium as we race our buggy to the podium. p.s: I lied about the racing cars part. Taylor loves drinking beer and watching NASCAR if that counts. Team Members:

Hey everybody! My son, Preston Fernandes, was in a tragic soapbox derby accident 34 years ago. The wreck caused major trauma and PTSD that kicks in anytime he gets near soap. This week Preston and his caretakers will be facing the demons that have plagued his life since that fateful wreck back in 1969. They'll be competing in the Red Bull Soap Box Derby this weekend in Los Angeles.
Please help make my boy's dream come true by voting for The Bayou Buggy. It's just two easy clicks away and it would mean the world to him if you could help his team win the popular vote because odds are he's going to freak out, wreck, and not be able to win the actual race.

The Red Bull Soapbox Derby is an annual global event put on by Red Bull energy drinks.This year's U.S. event is in Los Angeles.Only 70 teams are selected to participate, and Bakersfield is one of them.
