Hello, there! I have some exciting news for those of you who have lived in Highlands County for a very long time... but first, the set-up:

I remember when I was just a kid, the post office was where our police station now stands. There was a massive painting of a sabre-tooth tiger in the lobby. I always loved that painting. I also recall a very distinct smell to that old building that I found strangely comforting. But I digress...

I am SO happy to announce that the City of Sebring has very generously loaned that wonderful, beautiful, historically significant painting to the Museum of Florida Arts and Culture (MOFAC) at South Florida State College!

In preparation for its arrival, our Curator, Cindy Tommerlin is asking for any information, recollections, stories, and especially photos of the masterpiece. If you would consider sharing whatever you can offer, we would all be very grateful. You can send to [email protected].
