Friday, June 16 is men's & women's singles, Saturday, June 17 is mixed doubles, Sunday Father's Day, June 18 is men's doubles, and Monday Juneteenth, June 19 is women's doubles. Well, the Avalon Open Pickleball Tournament for 2023 is officially NOT HAPPENING. I repeatedly tried to secure the amazing Avalon courts, but kept getting the line "Avalon is no longer allowing For-Profit pickleball tournaments". I have to respect their decision, the Avalon courts were built for the Avalon residents. Not sure if this affects the APP tour event in Sept or any future for-profit tournaments next year. The Lions Club, a great local non-profit, is running the 7 Mile Island charity tournament the same weekend as last year's Avalon Open, but I'm not involved. I offered to combine our tournaments and to donate money to the Lions Club, but they didn't seem interested. I am still trying my best to secure another Jersey Shore pickleball venue and may have some news hopefully in a week or two so stay tuned to this channel...

I wanted to give everyone an update on my progress to secure the Avalon Pickleball venue for another Avalon Open tournament May 19-21. I've been trying since Oct 2022 to secure the venue with the Avalon Recreation dept to no avail. I believe the issue is that since the APP New Jersey Classic will be held there in Sept, they will only allow one other tournament to be run there in May and it appears they will give that to the Lions Club for a non-profit event. I understand the situation and will continue to try and secure the Avalon venue. In the meantime I've reached out to other venues in hopes to secure another location. As soon as I have a new venue I will let everyone know.

Announcing a Pro Pickleball Clinic Thursday Aug 11 in Cherry Hill with Pickleball Pros Eden Lica and Andrei Daescu at 5 Esterbrook Lane courts. The first session will be 3:30-5:30 PM for 3.0 to 3.5 players. The second session will be 6:00-8:00 PM for 4.0 and higher players. At 8 PM Eden & Andrei will put on a Pro Exhibition with local players. Cost is $130 Venmo .
