“Thanks, Dad”

Growing up, you never really understand how the things your parents do end up shaping the adult you become… until suddenly you are the adult, wondering when you started sounding just like them.

My dad was a great man who lived for making people smile. Every holiday, he decorated like he was competing on some kind of neighborhood game show—and honestly, he probably would’ve won. But when it came to Christmas? That’s when he reached full mastermind status. He always wanted the newest, brightest lights he could get his hands on, and he made sure every single one was perfectly straight—even if it took 1,000 staples and cost him two frozen fingers.

When he passed in ’07, that corner of Edward and Creed dimmed a little. For years, nothing happened. We all moved out, started our own lives, and the lights stayed dark.

Then one day I decided, “Nope, not letting Dad’s corner stay boring.” So we took to our own crossroad of Eigen and Third and got to work!!! We started small—just regular Christmas lights—and somehow ended up with the blinking, flashing, borderline-NASA-level operation we have today.

And I know if he were still here, he’d be right beside us: dreaming up wild ideas, placing ridiculous orders, and driving everyone crazy with nonstop “Christmas light talk.” Honestly, he’d love every second of it.

STORY TIME!!!! So, who's the mastermind behind CHRISTMAS AT THE CROSSROADS? Well, it's two brothers who are hopelessly, helplessly, and completely addicted to all things bright, shiny, and festive….thanks Dad…..thats a sotry for a different day. Did you know that one half of our duo controlled our show from over 100 miles away in Pittsburgh? Yeah, it was a real doozy, but we made it work. Every year, we try to top ourselves with more lights, more music, and more holiday cheer. This year, we didn't add a ton of new stuff, but we did do, was bring one half of the duo back home. With him now local, we're faster, more efficient, and more excited than ever. What used to take a month now takes less than a week. So with more time on our hands, We've got some crazy, zany ideas floating around, but this year we're focusing on perfecting the show, bringing back some oldies, and adding some newbies.
