Hey hey friends - it is birthday week over here 🎉 and while the Lacey Olympics won't be happening this year, I still want us to gather together, in person or virtual, for a fun fitness challenge. The challenge is that you must complete a 4.2 mile 🏃‍♀️ walk, jog, hike, run, etc. sometime between Monday 3/18 and midnight Saturday 3/23! You can submit your walk/run (text or DM) and one lucky winner will be drawn to win an amazing goodie bag of lululemon run gear. Bonus entries for posting and tagging to stories!!! ​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​If you are local in Austin, I will be hosting a walk/jog on Thursday morning at 9am in Falconhead. DM me for more information. We are a little over 6 weeks out until until the !!! This is Austin's most fun & enjoyable race that can be achieved by all - you can walk, run, jog or skip your way through the 6.2 miles that navigates through the streets of downtown & west Austin. Our first 30 team members to sign up will receive a lululemon run tank, along with some other goodies along the way - only ONE spot left here! The next 20 get some awesome run socks! Make sure to join our team & DM me if you have any questions. Our first community event is 3/25 at 8am at the lululemon Barton Creek store. Details coming soon, but you don't want to miss this fun.

I LOVEEEEEE a good EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute) because it keeps you moving, even when you don't want to 🤪! Today's EMOM cycles through 5 minutes & you can repeat it as many times as you want. Complete each movement then REST the remainder of each minute.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Min 1 - 10 squats (add some weight!) then 10 jump squats (no weight). Min 2 - 12 burpees, chest all the way to the ground. Min 3 - 10 reverse lunges (add some weights) then 10 jump lunges (no weight). Min 4 - plank hold, high or low. Min 5 - REST! Then repeat the 5 minute set as many times as you want! After a hot second (or a few months 🤪) of taking some post breaks, I am BACK!!! I have spent the summer doing all the things with the kids, but also getting really in tune with my goals & mission then aligning myself to them. This can be a slow & sometimes unclear process until the path becomes very obvious. Fitness & nutrition is such journey & I am thankful to have you guys along for the ride. As we learn more, try more, and fail more, we adjust. This season, I going to be very transparent about my journey & I hope to help guide you on yours. We are in this together, always learning, always adjusting. I want you to FEEL great in your skin & live a life that is not burdened by diet & exercise, but enhanced by it. I recently ran behind a women whose shirt said "RUN WITH JOY" on the back. At this point in the race I was tired, in the deep on some long miles, and feeling mentally drained, but this really grabbed me. What if we did hard things WITH JOY, because there truly is joy in everything. I was fatigued, feet aching, BUT I was also excited to be surrounded by peers, doing what I love, accomplishing a goal, and feeling grateful for my body to carry me through. My mind was capable of recognizing both sides, and after seeing her shirt, I made a vow to shift the focus to joy. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
I believe joy is limitless and I also believe that it truly is a choice we get to make. I get to run, that is a gift. My body can carry me through long miles, for which I am so thankful. What does it look like to do the hard things in your life WITH JOY? What if we tackled everyday hassles WITH JOY? Our job WITH JOY? Grief WITH JOY? This week, I challenge you to practice this mental exercise & see where it takes you. It has been a game changer for me. What can you see joy in today? Drop a note below! Alright friends, this one is for EVERYONE - you, your kids, your spouse, your partner, your boss, your friends, your parents, your aunts & uncles. For 40 days, you must dedicate a small amount of time to either run/jog/walk one mile OR complete 40 reps of one of the following movements - squats, push-ups, sit-ups, or burpees (ha!). Bonus points if they are weighted 🏋🏼‍♀️, but bodyweight is great too! The goal is to MOVE every day for 40 days. Keep it light, keep it fun, & keep it GOING! Let's go Monday! 👏🏻 The more you move, the better you will feel & will want to keep it going. I encourage you to PLAN your workouts, making you much more likely to stick with it. The 40 day MOVE challenge starts this Saturday (details coming soon!) ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Today we have a descending rep scheme, starting with 10 of each movement, then 9, all the way down to 1. Between each round, you will complete a 30 second plank hold. I encourage you to mix this up - high plank (on hands & toes), elbow plank (on elbows & toes) , side plank (on elbow, hips up, feet stacked or staggered), bear plank (on all fours, with knees slightly hovering so you are on your toes & hands), or reverse plank (on elbows and heels, hip to the sky).
