♻️🎨 GET CREATIVE WITH THE THREE R’s! 🎨♻️

Our Creative Arts Department superintendents are already busy planning and coming up with fun ideas for the 2027 Mower County Fair!

We’re excited to give you an early look at the 2027 Creative Arts Department theme:

🌿 REUSE • RESTORE • REPURPOSE 🌿

And YES — you can use the Three R’s as inspiration for your Creative Arts entries!

REUSE something you already have and turn it into a creative project.
RESTORE something old, worn or forgotten and give it new life.
REPURPOSE an everyday item into something completely new!

Think old windows turned into décor, furniture makeovers, tin-can crafts, mason jar creations, denim projects, pallet wood, vintage items, old dishes, buttons, fabric and paper scraps and so much more!

Your trash, treasure, thrift-store find or forgotten item could become a Mower County Fair ribbon winner!

Start looking around the house, garage, barn or thrift store and ask yourself…

“What could I turn THIS into?” 🤔💡

We can’t wait to see how creative you get with Reuse, Restore & Repurpose! ♻️❤️

📅 Mark your calendars! The 2027 Mower County Fair is August 10–15! That gives you plenty of time to put on your thinking cap, get creative, and turn something old into something amazing for the Creative Arts Department! ♻️🎨✨

How creative can you get?

Happy Labor Day!

Did you know Labor Day has been celebrated in the United States for more than 130 years?

The first Labor Day celebration was held on September 5, 1882, in New York City, as a way to recognize the contributions and achievements of American workers. In 1894, Labor Day officially became a federal holiday, celebrated on the first Monday in September.

Today, Labor Day is a time to honor the hardworking men and women whose dedication has helped build and strengthen our communities and our country.

Here at the Mower County Fairgrounds, we know firsthand how much can be accomplished when people roll up their sleeves and work together. From farmers and businesses to volunteers, organizations, exhibitors and families — hard work is at the heart of our community. ❤️🤍💙

This Labor Day, we say THANK YOU to everyone who works hard each day to make Mower County a great place to live, work and call home.

Happy Labor Day from the Mower County Fair!
