A quick note on The Whole Enchilada: it’s your only way into Giddy Up. And trust us, you want into Giddy Up.

Friday night, we’re taking over Franklin Barbecue for a massive, slightly unruly East Austin block party. Think some of our favorite chefs cooking over open flame, way more food than seems reasonable, and cold drinks flowing. Once that wraps, cruise over to Mohawk for Mon Rovia.

Then you wake up and do it all over again Saturday.

Both events. All the food. All the drinks. Mon Rovia at Mohawk.

We're packing out Assembly Hall for our big fiery feast Saturday night shindig, and we're not holding anything back. We've got a lineup of seriously talented chefs, an awful lot of food, cold drinks aplenty, and cocktails for those of you with 21+ birthdays under your belt.

1️⃣ Come Hungry — Obvious, yes. Still worth saying. This is not the day for a big lunch beforehand. You’re about to enter an endless loop of world-class chefs cooking over open fire and handing you absurdly good things, so pace yourself. There’s a lot of food. Like, a lot. This is how rookies get taken out early. 
 
2️⃣ See a Line? Fall in. You may not know which chef is at the end of it. Doesn’t matter. Someone in front of you does. 
 
3️⃣ Accept Your Fate. At some point you will say, “I cannot eat another bite.” This will be false. You’ll be standing in line for dessert five minutes later. 
 
Hydrate. Wear good shoes. Leave your dignity around plate six.

Chef Todd Duplechan has been feeding Austin very, very well at Lenoir Restaurant for more than a decade. His thing? “Hot weather food.” Bright, acid-forward dishes made for eating in the Texas heat. Which, come to think of it, might explain why he fits in so well around here.

Todd’s back at Hot Luck this October. Great chef, great human. We’re always happy when he says yes.
