Punk Rock Olympics The Punk Rock Olympics is a marathon of music & hilarious semi-competitive events, bringing various parts of our punk rock community together!

The 2nd annual Punk Rock Olympics was a 3 day festival in Austin TX. There were 20+ bands accompanied by “sport” events combining hilarious competitions and activities with punk rock music, art, and culture. It was designed to be a gathering of the various punk communities. Past sponsors and vendors included: Riot Rags, BK Hair by Bobby Kleman, Birds Barbershop, Metalwork Austin, and more. We also

had Austin’s punk rock Art Market, Satan’s Cheerleaders, and others join us for the fun. Sports have included: Wheelbarrow races, Mosh Pit Musical Chairs, Leaky Bucket Races, Name that tune, and a Big Stage Dive competition! In the original passing of the flame, we had a very untraditional opening ceremony that involved a Man on Fire, a former olympian, and a brass band. Year 1 & 2 was great, were looking forward to bringing you more of everything soon!

Thank you one and all for helping make this event happen, from crowd support, to contestants, organizers, event and stage managers, the very very kick ass bands, lovely sound engineers, the venue, sponsors, vendors, media team, ground crew, backline support, game runners, raffle team, MC's, Art teams, and more... you guys have got what it takes... As you can imagine when there are 26 bands, vending and 9 events over the course of 3 days its a tidal wave of fun an commotion. We all really had an amazing time and have the smiles to prove it.
Here are just a few of the people that dug in and gave us an amazing event this year at the Punk Rock Olympics!! we can't tag everyone in this one post,, but WE LOVE YOU GUYS!! Last night was one seriously great start to our 3 day event. The events were hilariously played, the winners all got amazing trophies and prizes. The bands,, wow wow wow,, every single one just plain kicked ass!!! We start up again today at 4 Oclock.

Seems like a great night for your favorite leather jacket!
