❤️ 25 YEARS ❤️
25 years ago today, I married the smoking-hot guy I first spotted while shoving a Subway sandwich in my mouth. 😂
I was 19 when I met Mike, and somehow I immediately knew: that’s my husband.
Turns out, I was right.
What I couldn’t have known was the life we’d build together.
We started as two college kids living in a trailer court. Then came a home, businesses, babies—lots of babies 😂—some really wild stories, tremendous joy, unimaginable heartbreak, and a whole lot of life.
Through all of it, Mike has been Mike.
The fun dad. The hard worker. The guy who loves people and will talk to absolutely anyone (I will not 😂). The one who pushes all of us to be better, but is always standing behind us cheering us on.
And the husband who has spent 25 years supporting approximately 947 of my wild ideas.
Which eventually led to perhaps my wildest one yet...
Buying a wedding venue. 🤍
There’s something beautifully full-circle about that.
I was once the 21-year-old bride whose reception venue canceled a month before her wedding. My hair was butchered, the cake flowers were forgotten, Mike nearly scalped me with my veil 😂, and our photographer ruined almost all of our pictures after the ceremony.
Our wedding wasn’t perfect.
But our marriage has been better than I ever could have imagined.
And maybe that’s part of why Flynn & Ivy means so much to me.
Today I get to help other couples create the day they’ve dreamed about—but after 25 years, I know something I didn’t understand at 21:
The wedding is only the beginning. The really good stuff comes after.
And 27 years after I first looked across that kitchen table at Mike...
I’d still pick him. Every single time. ❤️
Happy 25th anniversary, Mike.
And because Flynn & Ivy wouldn’t exist without a husband who rarely tells me no 😂, we’re celebrating by giving another couple $500 toward their Flynn & Ivy wedding!
