The inaugural Drs. Jean & Richard Pawl Sand Hills String Band Scholarship was awarded on Sunday, May 3 during the Sand Hills String Band & Creative Strings Spring Concert. The scholarship was established by a long-time member of the string band and retired AU professor Dr. Richard Pawl and his wife Dr. Jean Pawl. The scholarship supports a Music Education student assistant at String Band rehearsals every fall and spring semester. The inaugural recipient is AU Music Education Student Max Gonzalez. Congratulations Max!
