On behalf of the Ka'ōnohi Foundation, we extend our deepest gratitude and admiration to everyone who contributed to our extraordinary event and to everyone who came out to enjoy and support SAF!

We're profoundly thankful to our volunteers, coordinators, vendors, exhibitors, presenters, and entertainers who shared their remarkable talents and time with us, and to our Native American brothers and sisters who enriched our 'Ōiwi presentation with their invaluable presence.

Mahalo for all of your uplifting words and unwavering support. We eagerly look forward to seeing you all next year as we continue to perpetuate and celebrate the richness of Polynesian culture.

Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo.
The Ka'ōnohi Foundation Board of Directors.

Happy Aloha Friday!

Tomorrow is the day. We can't wait to see you all out at SAF. Come ready to spend the day with us and enjoy all the aloha we have to share.

Be sure to stop by the Le`ale`a stage to see this group. We will have programs for sale so you can keep up with the schedule for the day.

Hālau Ka Waikahe Lani Mālie a me Hālau Kahulaliwai was established on September 11, 1999 in Sacramento, CA. Under the direction of Kumu Hula Juni Kalāhikiola Lovel, students span in age from keiki (children) to our kūpuna (elders). The name of the women’s hālau “Hālau Ka Waikahe Lani Mālie” translates to “the peaceful, heavenly, flowing water” while the men’s hālau translates as “the water’s reflection”. Just as water is essential to life, each student contributes to our life and legacy.

We are in for a treat Hālau Hula Pono will be sharing their hula with us on Saturday, at SAF. Let's meet this next hālau.

Located in the small town of Newcastle, Calif, Hālau Hula Pono was founded in 2010 by Kumu Hula Pamahoa Akina. Our goal is to contribute to the preservation and perpetuation of Hawaiian and Tahitian arts and culture through traditional dance, and to enlighten others to the beauty of these traditions. We are ʻohana and community focused and contribute to our local and Polynesian communities through the good works and ALOHA of our hālau. PONO is the core value and guiding principle in all we do.

Don't forget we offer workshops during SAF. This year our Tahitian workshop will be held in the Lions Building at 12:15pm.

Let's meet the instructor: From Othai Marama Olivia

Olivia began learning and training at the age of 5 yrs old, and started competing shortly after joining. She danced for award winning troupes like Te Mana O Te Ra, based in Walnut Creek, and then Manuia Polynesian Review in San Francisco, and Makamae Melia O Polynesia in Elk Grove. To Olivia, Polynesian dancing is a family affair, it is personal and is an activity that brought her family closer. Her father was once a drummer, her mother was a singer, and her sisters, cousins, uncles, and aunts all dance in groups located all over California.
