Act of Congress is Birmingham's acoustic quartet — guitar, mandolin, fiddle, upright bass, and four-part harmony. Pop melodies on bluegrass instruments. The range of a ten-piece in the footprint of four chairs.

Together for almost twenty years, the band has performed across five continents as U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors — Thailand, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Philippines, Bali, Liberia, and Jordan among them. Highlights include performing for Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and a headline appearance at Jordan's celebrated Jerash Festival.

For over 15 years, Act of Congress has crafted a sound that’s entirely their own, blending mandolin, violin, guitar, bass, and rich, layered harmonies into a genre-defying acoustic experience. What started as a passion for honest, expressive music has grown into a sought-after live experience around the world. Yes, around the world; they have completed FIVE tours as U.S. Cultural Ambassadors, led by the U.S. State Department.
