Only in New Jersey do we literally marry the ocean! Every year for the Feast of Assumption, a dozen Jersey shore towns celebrate the “Wedding of the Sea”. This Catholic tradition is complete with processions, prayers and the symbolic tossing of a flowered wreath into the ocean.🌸🌊
