This will probably be our last post until next year! I first have to thank my wife and Annie for allowing me to put this tournament on…she was the rock behind it all that dealt with me being on the phone a lot…a lot of time away from me…All that stuff!! It takes a good woman to love a king mackerel fishermen and I believe you all would agree. I am also thankful for my family and friends who helped us out big time! You all know who you are!

Next, I gotta say we have had a million compliments on our captains bucket. This doesn’t happen without our friends at Calcutta. They went above and beyond to help us and really knocked it out of the park

Next, Becky Mitchiner - State Farm Insurance Agent Will Mitchiner - State Farm Agent and their team crushed it! They helped us big time from start to finish and tournaments don’t happen with just one person…it takes a team!!

Next, Taps and Tackle and Town Creek Marina & Yacht Sales for being amazing hosts for our captains party and our weigh in! Everything was absolutely perfect

Next, Yuengling Beer and my good friend there, Jess Petrosky, who went above and beyond. I think a lot of people will be buying yuengling now that they know how good it is!

Next, simply put, all our amazing sponsors. You know who you are! There was a huge banner with your names on it and we couldn’t have held such a good event without each and every one of you! We hope and pray all our anglers with in some way, shape or form notice who helped to make this event happen and support you all in one way or another!

Last, thanks to all the anglers. I want to personally thank the 45 boats that toughed it out. It was tough fishing out there and even tougher weather at times and you didn’t have to fish this tournament…I know that! It means the world to us that you believed in us and supported us and trusted us to hold a great event and we hope and pray that there were no complaints and that the word will get out that this was a REAL EVENT, and a REAL KING MACKEREL TOURNAMENT…not just a Mickey Mouse event and that this event will only grow and prosper! It can only happen with the help of our anglers and the fishing community!

Good luck to everyone today! Lines in at 7! Hopefully you all are catching bait as we post this! We know the weather has not done us favor…Mother Nature angry and she is blowing out there out of the East primarily. Tuck in somewhere on the easterly bank around the cape. This is a captains choice tournament meaning if it’s too rough for you, turn around! YES you will lose your entry fee but know your limits. No fish is worth anyone getting hurt. Use your own judgement!! Safety always comes first!

Catch them up and we will see y’all at the scales!

Thanks to everyone that came out this evening to the captains party. We really tried to make it fun for everyone. We are all tired and have worked hard and unfortunately the weather forecast hurt our entries BUT we still have 45 boats fishing tomorrow. Good weather and this would have been an unreal event but it is what it is. Just due to the lower number of boats, we are paying out 5 places in the main tournament and 3 places in all the TWTs except the High Roller which is winner take all. We don’t want to do this but we feel it’s the right thing to do with the lower number of entries. We have around $30,000 and prize money and you don’t have to burn $2000 in fuel to win! Good luck ladies and gentlemen. Below is a look at payouts. Again, my sincere apologies. We wanted massive payouts but again, the weather kinda hit us hard but that is king mackerel tournament fishing for us.

I am down right jealous that I won’t have a chance to win one of these awesome prizes we will be raffling off. When registering you can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win one of these prizes for $10/each or 5 for $40…cash only. We will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets for the same price. You can buy these any time this evening and you do not have to be present to win as we know a lot of you may have to get on back home to prepare for fishing tomorrow! We will draw at the end of the night…LIVE ON FACEBOOK. We will start announcements and be LIVE ON FACEBOOK around 7PM this evening. Registration will go until 9PM. Registration tent will be up and running starting at 3:30pm for those who want to come by early. Come out and see us!! If you need to register remotely just print a form off our page, fill it out, send me a picture and then pay via Venmo, Cashapp or PayPal and we will send you your boat number. Ok…ladies and gentlemen…a couple of quick announcements…for tomorrows registration it’s going to start around 3:30 pm. Parking is really scarce this weekend and in the latter part of the day it is even more scarce with all the waterfront being blocked off due to the boat race. There is only Arendell street parking and a couple of parking lots around Beach Bums. A few of the side streets have spaces as well BUT if you are local and can Uber or Taxi…I strongly suggest doing so for a number of reasons! If you are coming yourself, just don’t get frustrated…keep circling and something will come open! We are getting registrations coming in today. Print the forms, text a picture to me at 919-429-1063 and you can pay via Venmo, Cashapp, or PayPal. If you come to the captains party and register in person, pay with any of those methods or pay with CASH or credit card. Please bring a little cash either way as we have raffle tickets for some awesome prizes and the tickets are cash only. There is a ATM on site. Also, we have a outside bar and a bartender which is also cash only. We are super excited for all our anglers. This is going to be a lot of fun!
