TORNADO FUNDRAISING UPDATE:

After just over a week of fundraising, our community raised $65,000! Such an overwhelming amount of generosity.

All of the donations have been distributed to the three families who lost a loved one, along with their home and belongings. One of the families directed a portion to a victim that was badly injured and will have a lengthy recovery. All funeral expenses were covered for all three that died during the tornado. The funeral home did not take one cent toward their time and use of staff, facilities and equipment. Donations were used to cover wholesale costs of caskets, burial vaults, and urns; vault equipment fees, crematory fees, cemetery fees, headstones, headstone foundations, county medical examiner fees, certified death certificates, casket flower sprays, and food for the receptions.

We wish to thank everyone who donated, whether it was a small or large amount, it was all greatly appreciated. Some of you gave sacrificially and I believe our Heavenly Father will bless you for putting others ahead of yourself. We will never forget those of you that not only donated, but sent cards of love and encouragement for the victims and our funeral home staff that were overwhelmed as well. We are blessed to live in a community that cares so deeply for its friends and neighbors. Union City has been changed forever and we must continue to stick together and try our very best to follow the golden rule. Again, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
