As a former contestant and Miss Menard County, I can honestly say the experience taught me skills that I still use today throughout my professional career. From public speaking and interviewing to developing confidence, poise, and the ability to step out of my comfort zone. The contest prepared me for opportunities far beyond the stage.

The lessons learned, leadership developed, and connections gained through the contest extend far beyond the competition itself. I cannot stress this to you enough.

The Menard County Fair Queen Contest committee is still looking for Miss contestants, and I encourage anyone who has ever considered participating - even for a moment - to give it a try. You may discover it isn’t at all what you expected, and you never know where the experience might take you!
