Join us TODAY at 5:30 PM for Grand Ball!

Our 2nd Annual "Grand Ball" is a dance for grandparents (and honorary grandparents!) and their grandkids featuring music from the 1940s to the 2020s. Best part? It's in support of scholarship programs for kids and seniors!

Grand Ball is TODAY, Friday, May 29 at 5:30 PM in the Sue E. Trotter Black Box Theater at The Arts Center.

A donation to AACA's scholarship programs gets you in the door to enjoy balloons, cookies, a selfie station, and the opportunity to help children go to camp.

The event is produced by Sloane Shepherd & Taylor Kimball, who put the idea for a grandparent/grandkid dance together with fundraising for scholarships to benefit seniors and youth students.

Wolfenden Family Pharmacies is one of AACA + The Arts Center's most faithful supporters.

Jeff Wolfenden and his team have invested in AACA for more than twenty-five years. The pharmacy group was a longtime sponsor of our professional performing arts series and, when we restructured our sponsorship program, was enthusiastic about supporting a whole year of arts programming.

The Wolfenden Family's belief in a strong community is evident by their support of many local causes as a business and personally.

This kind of dedicated investment is what has allowed us a strong legacy in Athens. Please help us thank Lisa and Jeff Wolfenden for their support of arts & culture in our community.

TONIGHT!

Tuesday, May 26, at 7:00 PM, we'll read "Crimes of the Heart" in the Sue E. Trotter Black Box Theater. This table read is led by Jan Burleson.

Next month, June 2 at 7:00 PM, we'll read and listen to "The Prom" in the Sue E. Trotter Black Box Theater. This table read is led by Tyler Peaden and Michael Webb.

Later this summer, July 14 at 7:00 PM, we'll read "A Little Talk" in the Peggy Dow Performing Arts Center. This table read is led by Kathryn Hunter.

In "Crimes of the Heart," Warmhearted, irreverent, zany and brilliantly imaginative, Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions.

In "The Prom," four eccentric Broadway stars need a new stage...and with trouble brewing with a small-town prom, they decide to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves, bringing everyone together with love and acceptance.

"A Little Talk" is a collection of short pieces written by Susan C. Hunter. The pieces are for characters of all (adult) ages. Some are humorous, some very serious. PG-13 Advisory for mature language.

You can choose your level of participation—whether you want to sit back and enjoy listening or jump into the roles with us! 📖🎭
