Thank you to everyone who has continued to follow us over the years since our last merit badge academy in 2020. We are thrilled to announce the return of the merit badge academy on Saturday October 4, 2025 as part of the Pony Express Council's 21st Century Scouting initiative, and look forward to building this event over the coming years!

Check out these amazing photos from the 2020 Benedictine College Merit Badge Academy that was held on Saturday, February 15, 2020! We were so excited to welcome over 200 scouts onto campus for a fun day of learning! We can't wait to welcome you back in 2021!!!

Here are just a few of the pictures taken from the 2020 Benedictine College Merit Badge Academy that was held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 on the Beautiful Campus of Benedictine College in Atchison, KS! It was a pleasure to welcome 215 scouts in attendance plus their scoutmasters, parents, and other guardians onto campus!

Scouts had the opportunity to earn up to 2 Merit Badges from an offering of over 30 badge sessions! Of these, there were 18 Benedictine College Faculty and Staff Members and 7 Benedictine College Students who instructed!

Special Thanks to the Benedictine College Marketing Department for supplying us with some of these amazing pictures!

Animal Science Instructor Needed!!!

We are excited to be holding the 2020 Benedictine College Merit Badge Academy this Saturday, February 15, 2020! We are offering the Animal Science Badge at this event, but are having some troubles getting an instructor committed to teaching this. The session runs from 9:00-12:00 in the morning on the campus of Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. If you or someone you know is able to help us out, please email Patrick Schultz at [email protected]

We have scouts registered to take this badge, and would hate to have to retract the offering.

This is a reminder that the Early Bird Price of $20 expires tonight at midnight for the 2020 Merit Badge Academy! Starting tomorrow (January 1, 2020), the price will be $25!

We also wanted to remind all Troops that if your scouts have already registered and indicated that the Troop will be paying the fee, you must pay by today in order to still get the Early Bird price. If payment is not made before the price change, the Troop will have to pay the normal $25 price.
