Even with cases lowering across the county, once we talked with City of Astoria's Public Works as well as higher-ups within the Police, we decided it would be in best interest of everyone's safety if we postponed the event!
Astoria gets ~100,000 visitors for the 4th of July weekend and closing down streets along the Riverwalk would increase the risk of unsafe behavior (not to mention interrupt the lovely trolley service)
We'll be planning ahead for 2022 & picking a location in the North Coast that solves the logistical challenges of a 3-day food festival (power, water, parking, safety, etc)
Thanks to everyone for their support on Memorial Day weekend, in the meantime - keep eating good food & we'll see you soon!
