Aspen Gay Ski Week

Call Directions Website

Aspen Gay Ski Week AGSW (Aspen Gay Ski Week) is an LGBTQ event featuring: Skiing, snowboarding, parties, art, shopping,

Located in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, AspenOUT and the Roaring Fork Gay & Lesbian Community Fund provide support and services to our diverse LBGT population of the valley, not to mention the tens of thousands of gay and lesbian travelers who visit the valley each year. With one of the highest concentrations of LBGT populations in the Rocky Mountains, we host and sponsor a variety of programs, educational forums, dinners, and recreational outings. Our primary fundraising opportunity is the annual Aspen Gay Ski Week held every January, when over 5,000 LBGT people, skiers, and non-skiers descend upon our serene mountain valley. It’s a week-long event many in the area love to attend, whether they are gay or straight. The efforts from this event and others throughout the year have enabled AspenOUT and the Roaring fork Gay & Lesbian Community Fund to become prominent funders for local and regional LBGT charities, providing several hundred thousand dollars in funding in our short history.

From hanky codes to annual ski pins, how one person knew someone was a part of AGSW in the early days of ski week came from subtle signals. Thank goodness for civil rights and generations before us who paved the way for equity and equality.
