🎵 Artist Spotlight: Broken Wagon Travelers
A Pocatello legend hauls his songs to Ashton. Shawn Barnby is the kind of name you see scrolling through every "live music this week" column in the Idaho State Journal — Portneuf Valley Brewing, the First National Bar, Pebble Creek's Wildflower Festival, downtown art walks, Field of Heroes memorials, Gate City Brewfest. Frontman of the folk/Americana band WhistlePigs and a fixture of Shawn Barnby and Friends, he's spent the last fifteen years building Gate City's music scene one Friday night at a time.
He's joined by Noel Benadom — a pedigreed player whose road has reached a little further than most. Noel has been part of the Baltimore Colts Band and the US Navy Band, has toured the world with both, and has played solo in Ireland. When two musicians like this share a stage, you get songs that have been shaped by the long way around.
With the Broken Wagon Travelers, Shawn and Noel bring those songs out of downtown Pocatello and onto the Meadowlark stage — original songwriting, hard-earned road feel, and the kind of duo work you only get from players who've put in the miles.
Catch them live June 25-27 at the historic Old Opera House in Ashton.
