🎵 Artist Spotlight: Broken Wagon Travelers

A Pocatello legend hauls his songs to Ashton. Shawn Barnby is the kind of name you see scrolling through every "live music this week" column in the Idaho State Journal — Portneuf Valley Brewing, the First National Bar, Pebble Creek's Wildflower Festival, downtown art walks, Field of Heroes memorials, Gate City Brewfest. Frontman of the folk/Americana band WhistlePigs and a fixture of Shawn Barnby and Friends, he's spent the last fifteen years building Gate City's music scene one Friday night at a time.
He's joined by Noel Benadom — a pedigreed player whose road has reached a little further than most. Noel has been part of the Baltimore Colts Band and the US Navy Band, has toured the world with both, and has played solo in Ireland. When two musicians like this share a stage, you get songs that have been shaped by the long way around.
With the Broken Wagon Travelers, Shawn and Noel bring those songs out of downtown Pocatello and onto the Meadowlark stage — original songwriting, hard-earned road feel, and the kind of duo work you only get from players who've put in the miles.

Catch them live June 25-27 at the historic Old Opera House in Ashton.

🎵 Artist Spotlight: Sean McGinness

A return to the Meadowlark stage. Sean McGinness opened up Saturday morning at Meadowlark 2025 with the kind of set that quietly wins a festival — Americana and classic country played with a great voice and an easy, mellow hand. He's a player's player: the sort of musician other musicians want to share a stage with, and a standout on the old standards like "Me and My Uncle." We're glad to have him back

Catch him live June 25-27 at the historic Old Opera House in Ashton.

🏔️ Coming to Meadowlark from out of town?

One of our favorite things about Meadowlark is seeing visitors discover just how much there is to explore in this corner of Idaho. Whether you’re spending a few days in Ashton or turning the festival into a longer adventure, there are plenty of great places to stay throughout the region.

Our friends at Yellowstone Teton Territory have a helpful lodging guide that includes everything from cabins and campgrounds to hotels and guest ranches.

While you’re here, take some time to enjoy the rivers, mountains, small-town charm, and all the places that make East Idaho special.

We’re grateful for Yellowstone Teton Territory’s support of Meadowlark and for everything they do to help people experience this incredible part of the state. 🎶

🎵 Artist Spotlight: Travis Hardy Band!

Before there was Micky and the Motorcars, there was a kid from Challis named Travis Hardy keeping time. A founding member of the Motorcars alongside Micky and Gary Braun, Hardy played drums on the band's earliest run out of Idaho into Austin, helping to shape what would become one of the defining bands in red dirt country. He came back home and built his own band — the Travis Hardy Band — now a staple of the Challis Roadhouse and Braun Brothers Reunion weekends.

We’re excited to welcome the Travis Hardy Band to Meadowlark Music Festival 2026!

Catch them live June 25-27 at the historic Old Opera House in Ashton.

Today's thank you goes to Teton Reserve Golf Course

A championship golf course at the foot of the Tetons. Designed by three-time U.S. Open Champion Hale Irwin, Teton Reserve sprawls 7,426 yards of par-72 links-style layout across the high desert floor between Driggs and Victor — fast greens, strategic bunkering, and the kind of mountain-and-valley views that distract you out of a good swing. Tough enough for the seasoned player, forgiving enough for the beginner, and open to the public year-round.

The clubhouse keeps a fully stocked pro shop, a dining room that serves a cold drink with a view, and a driving range that's worth the trip on its own. Whether you're booking a tee time, taking a lesson, or signing up for a season pass, the Teton Reserve crew runs it like the gem it is — and we're proud to have them as a Meadowlark Gold Sponsor.

6660 Reserve Dr, Victor, ID 83455 · (208) 787-4224

We're grateful for their support and proud to have them as part of this year's festival. If you can, give them a visit, follow along, or simply thank them for helping bring live music to our little mountain town.
See you June 25–27 in Ashton! 🎻🎵

🎵 Artist Spotlight: Dan Costello Music

A Boise singer-songwriter and guitarist who refuses to pick a lane — Dan Costello's catalog drifts between folk, pop, rock, and jazz with the easy confidence of someone who's been writing songs longer than most people have been listening to them. Equal parts craftsman and performer, his sets are built for rooms that lean in.

We're excited to welcome Dan to Meadowlark Music Festival 2026!

Catch him live June 25-27 at the historic Old Opera House in Ashton.

🎵 Artist Spotlight: Lee Penn Sky!

Before we dive into Lee's story and music, we want to give a special shout-out and thank you to Lee Penn Sky. Beyond sharing his talent with Meadowlark, Lee has played a big part in helping spread the word about the festival—sharing posts and helping build excitement for our little festival in a big way. Community-minded artists like Lee are a huge part of what makes Meadowlark special, and we're incredibly grateful for his support.
Thank you, Lee, for helping us bring people together through music. We can't wait to welcome you to the Meadowlark stage! 🎶❤️

Quiet fire, hard-won wisdom, and the kind of songwriting that sneaks up on you. Lee Penn Sky writes deceptively simple Americana rooted in his Michigan childhood and the high-plains desert of Idaho where he now resides — songs in the lineage of Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, and Townes Van Zandt without copying any of them. After near-fatal injuries, multiple surgeries, and learning to walk twice, he poured all of it into a guitar and four studio albums, including Lean Into The Letter — built around a recovered family letter from a relative who escaped the Holocaust — and his latest, Prophets and Pretenders. As a solo artist he's intimate and unhurried; with his band The Oliphants he's explosive. He's shared stages with Glen Phillips, Rhett Miller, and The Black Lillies.
