Her Story
Bad Cat Fiber Arts came to life in 2023, inspired by the overwhelming encouragement of Barbara’s TikTok followers—who believed in her dream even before she did. What began as a simple way to share the peace and mindfulness of hand spinning has grown into something truly special: a creative sanctuary and a vibrant fiber-loving community.

What started in 1998 as an innocent endeavor into raising a couple of sheep for my own use for spinning fiber and weaving, quickly grew into a full fledged spinning flock of a variety of different breeds of sheep and much, much more fiber than I would have ever expected! Carden’ Wool was born! (A play on words using letters from both my name and my husband’s….Carole and Denny Fry!) Being 18th century history re-enactors, we began setting up a shop at living history events to demonstrate spinning and sell raw fleeces and natural colored roving and yarns along side with wool blankets made at a mill in Canada from our farm’s wool. Within a few years, Carden’ Wool was selling at local Fiber Fairs and farmer’s markets as well as having added hand dyed rovings and yarns as well as a variety of hand crafted items from natural fibers for sale.

We’re thrilled (and honestly a little humbled) to share that vendor spaces for the 2026 Autumn Fiber Festival are officially full.

We had a wonderful response from talented makers, farms, and fiber artists, and we’re so grateful for the community that continues to support this event year after year.

If space happens to open up, we do keep a waiting list.

What a weekend!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the Autumn Fiber Festival possible - those who attended, bought raffle tickets, donated prizes, shared posts, set up, checked in vendors, put out signs, cooked, baked, demonstrated, sponsored, brought animals, delivered lunches, took photos, and helped behind the scenes throughout the year in many other ways!

To our incredible vendors and artisans - your creativity and craftsmanship make this event truly special.
