We are the Tri-State Sports Commission, and we serve Eastern Kentucky, Southern West Virginia, and Southern Ohio. We are passionate advocates for the power of sports in fostering community, promoting healthy lifestyles, and driving economic growth. As lifelong residents of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that sports can have on ind

ividuals and communities in our area. From the thrill of cheering on our home teams to the camaraderie built on playing fields and courts, sports have the unique ability to unite us, inspire us, and teach us valuable lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. We believe that the Tri-State region has tremendous potential to become a national leader in sports tourism and development. With our diverse landscapes, rich athletic traditions, and passionate fan bases, we possess all the ingredients necessary to attract major sporting events, foster the growth of local athletes, and create thriving sports-related businesses. We are particularly interested in using the Commission initiatives to:
* Expand access to youth sports programs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of background or socioeconomic status.
* Support the development of world-class athletic facilities that can host regional, national, and even international competitions.
* Promote collaboration between states to leverage our shared resources and expertise, creating a unified sports ecosystem for the entire Tri-State area.
* Host, fund, and coordinate sports leagues and programs throughout the Tri-State.

Big things coming to the Tri-State are for Tennis and Pickleball!

Big news from the hill… 7827 Tennis Center is becoming Hilltop Courts. Welcome to elevated play. 🎾
Same courts. Same faces. Same hilltop on Melody Farms Road.
Just a new name and look that finally fit who we are: a year‑round home for both tennis and pickleball.
We’re proud to host what we believe is the best junior tennis program in West Virginia and in our area, and Hilltop Courts is about carrying that same standard across everything we do. Our open play, ladders, leagues, and tournaments are already well organized — now we’re focused on refining them even more so players get better matches and an even stronger experience on court.
On the pickleball side, we’re not starting from zero — you’ve already helped us build a strong base. This next phase is about elevating it: introducing pickleball reservations at certain times, adding more structured DUPR nights, and rolling out new league options (including high school and middle school pickleball) as we move into the fall. 🥒
We’ll share more details throughout the summer, but here’s what to know right now:
• Same location and ownership
• Same staff and core programs you already know
• A name and identity that better match where we’re headed
• Hilltop Courts is the name you’ll see on our doors, socials, and gear
