We're all in our places with tired but bright, shiny faces, waiting to greet you tomorrow at the 2nd Annual Celebrate Ashburnham Street Fair!

Despite a weather scare, Saturday's event will kick off at 10:00 AM as planned. Everything is in place, and ready for you to enjoy from entertainment to food to our wide variety of local craftspeople.

The Committee has worked really hard to bring you what we believe will be a great community event! Please take some time out of your hectic lives to share some time with us!

We have been asked to post some logistic information regarding the Fair, so here goes.

Main Street at Pleasant St will be closed, and thru traffic will be detoured to Academy St. to Puffer Street to Maple St. back to Route 12 South. Main Street at Water Street (Route 101) will be closed with the same detour as above. Central Street will be closed to thru traffic at the intersection of Puffer St and Academy St. but traffic to downtown businesses will be allowed. Memorial Drive from Town Hall down to Main Street will be closed. Lawrence St will be closed from Park St. to Main St. All road closures and detours will be in place at 7:00am and will re-open at 6:00 PM.

Handicapped Parking will be the parking lot of the Ashburnham Market(closed) and general parking will be in the DPW lot on Central Street. There will be attendants at both lots during the day to assist patrons with parking. Those people wanting to go to Athol Savings Bank and Ashburnham Wine and Spirits can do so by entering the parking lot from Memorial Drive off Chapel St.

Also, the performance stage will be on the Town Hall lawn this year, so make sure that you bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit and enjoy the music and the talent show!

It's hard to believe, but the Street Fair is upon us. Please make sure you bring the kiddos to the Kid's Craft Area located in the parking lot on the corner of Pleasant and Main Streets. There will be fun games, crafts, the drum circle and a magic show at 12:15 and a balloon artist. The craft area will be open from 10:00 to 4:00 and the balloon artist will be with us until 3:00 PM.

Please make sure you visit the Scarecrow Invasion, sponsored by the Recreation Committee on the Town Hall lawn that starts at 11:00 AM.

Stop by the Oakmont Booster, DPW, AMPL, Police Department and Fire Department booths and say hello. Check out the latest and greatest equipment from the DPW, AMLP and Fire Department.

Don't forget to stop by the Information Booth, at the top of Central Street and get a copy of the Street Fair map and vendor listing.

WHEW! Lots to remember, but it will be a fun filled day for everyone!
