Arlington Community Haunted House

10/03/2026

This year was not what we expected. In fact... its pretty safe to say that this year was... a drastic bummer.

However! Some closed doors lead us to different opportunities of open doors! We cannot run this year, that is a fact. But we can support our neighboring communities.

Please come out and support Terror for a Cause - Stanwood's Haunted Experience in Stanwood! Katie and her team are absolute rockstars! They have faced an incredible amount of adversity this year. But still pulled together as a team to overcome!

We cannot run, but we can support! Props! Costumes! Backdrops! We got your back Katie!

If you would like to see ACHH custom props and backdrops being put to great use, check out Terror for a Cause - Stanwood's Haunted Experience

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share that the Arlington Community Haunted House will not be opening for the 2026 season.

After receiving a denial on our permit application, we met directly with City of Arlington staff to determine whether there was a path forward. The fire and building code requirements now being enforced for this type of attraction make it effectively impossible for us to operate with our current construction (which we have been in compliance with for the last 10 years). Even with major last-minute changes, we were told we would not be eligible to operate in 2026.

This means that 2025 was the final season of the Arlington Community Haunted House.

After 10 years, this is an incredibly difficult announcement to make.

We want to make one thing very clear: our volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and supporters did not fail this Haunted House. Quite the opposite. Because of you, we were able to keep this event alive, rebuild it, improve it, and create something incredible year after year. The work you have put in, especially these last several weekends, has been extraordinary, and I could not be more grateful or proud of this team.

We are especially heartbroken to lose the opportunity to provide a creative place for our volunteers and youth, bring our community together, and raise funds to support local organizations.

We are grateful to the City staff who met with us and treated our team with professionalism and respect. We understand that they have a responsibility to enforce the codes and regulations of the City, just as we have a responsibility to operate legally and safely.

To every volunteer, sponsor, partner, guest, family, and community member who has supported us since 2015, thank you. We cold not have done it without you.

We are absolutely gutted, but more than anything, we are grateful for the incredible 10 years Arlington gave us.

With love and gratitude,

Jackie Murray

We are now accepting volunteers for the upcoming season. Whether you are interested in acting, building sets, helping behind the scenes, supporting front-end operations, or learning more about how a haunted house runs, we would love to have you join us.

ACHH is an on-the-job volunteer experience where volunteers clock in and clock out to track their hours while working alongside mentors to build real-world skills in leadership, craftsmanship, customer service, problem-solving, teamwork, and community networking.

We work with volunteers of all ages. Please note that volunteers acting on the set must be 12 years of age or older. Younger volunteers will be trained with our Actor Hospitality Team and Front End Team, where they can still gain experience, help support the event, and be part of the ACHH community.

Hi everyone! Jackie here with an Arlington Community Haunted House update. 🎪👻

Our 2026 Haunted House Gameplan Breakdown was originally planned as a live Zoom meeting, but due to an unexpected medical situation while I’m out of town, we’ll be shifting the update to a pre-recorded video instead.

The good news: everyone is okay and recovering. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

The Gameplan Breakdown video will be released tomorrow (June 13th) around 6:00 PM on Facebook and YouTube, and established volunteers will also receive the link by email.

Please make sure to watch the full update, as it will cover important details for the 2026 Haunted House season, including our theme, schedule, work parties, volunteer information, and what to expect from now through November.

We are still so excited for the 2026 season and so grateful for all of your support. Thank you for being flexible with us during a roller coaster of a week.
