Lisanne Miller gives insight into her evening FIFI (find it, finish it) class that's being offering during Rug Hooking Week!

Lisanne's workshop is open to all projects and will be held outside her vendor booth for hands on help color planning and strategizing a path to completing those unfinished projects.

CLASS SPOTLIGHT 🔦The Secret Message | Jeanne Benjamin | 1-day class
Personalize your heirloom with a secret message. Students will learn the process of creating a secret message that cannot be seen on the front of the rug. Students will practice on a small piece with provided precut wool. Step-by-step guidance and examples will ensure fun and success! The instructor’s six grandchildren each have their own unique message rug from grandma. Now yours can too!

CLASS SPOTLIGHT 🔦The Last Act Finishing | Joyce Krueger | 1-day class
Finishing the rug is the one process many of us do not look forward to. But it is one of the most important parts of the rug. A good finish will ensure that a floor rug will last longer. If a rug is being judged, the finishing can be the difference between a blue ribbon or no ribbon. In this class students will make a sampler using different finishing techniques. There will also be demonstrations of different ways to finish a hooked piece, including a wall hanging, framing, and adding a braided border.

CLASS SPOTLIGHT 🔦Sheep Applique on Sliding Lid Box | Teresa Miller | Evening class
In this class, students will applique a sheep and pennies using hand dyed wool onto a piece of hand-dyed linen. Add a row of decorative stitches and other embellishments if you’d like. The instructor will also provide direction on how to finish the applique and mount it onto a wooden sliding lid box.

CLASS SPOTLIGHT 🔦Primitive Candy Cane | Susie Simmons | Evening class
Students will learn how to create wooly tree branches for a greenery bouquet in addition to creating the 3-dimensional holly leaves and berries. All techniques learned in this class can be applied to other wool feather projects. This class is the stepping stone to creating other 3-D wool projects with confidence.
