ELECTRIC ISLAND ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #16

debstep is a rapidly emerging force in dubstep and riddim, representing Chicago, Illinois with a genre-blending sound, relentless energy, and a commitment to pushing the next generation of bass music forward.

In just over a year of producing, debstep has already earned support from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Excision, Subtronics, Crankdat, DJ Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal), YDG, Hi I’m Ghost, and more. His music continues to gain traction throughout the bass community, proving that his unique approach to heavy music is resonating with both fans and industry leaders alike.

At only 25 years old, debstep has quickly established himself as one of the Midwest’s most promising breakout artists. His growing list of live performances includes direct support for Excision, WANKDAT (Wooli b2b Crankdat), Level Up, HOL!, Barely Alive, Bear Grillz, Riot Ten, and numerous other nationally touring acts.

Most recently, debstep achieved a major career milestone by performing on the Main Stage at Force Fields Festival, one of the Midwest’s premier bass music festivals. His high-energy performance further solidified his reputation for delivering explosive sets packed with heavy drops, unexpected switch-ups, and crowd-commanding stage presence.

Beyond the stage, debstep has become a driving force within the Chicago bass scene through his sold-out “debstep & friends” events, creating opportunities for local and emerging artists while building a dedicated community around the music. His grassroots impact, combined with growing industry recognition, has positioned him as an artist with both momentum and longevity.

With support from bass music’s biggest names, festival appearances continuing to grow, and a rapidly expanding fanbase, debstep is no longer just an artist to watch—he’s actively carving out his place in the future of dubstep.

ELECTRIC ISLAND ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #14

Mikrodot is a Midwest-based producer and DJ operating at the deeper end of 140 BPM music. Blending heavy dubstep energy with dub-in
fluenced sound system aesthetics, his sound prioritizes weight, space, and groove—sometimes aggressive, sometimes meditative, always intentional. With a formal background in music production, Mikrodot approaches both releases and performances with technical precision and a strong sense of flow. His music has appeared on
respected platforms including DUPLOC, FKOF, and Artikal Music, positioning him among artists pushing the subtler, system-driven side of modern dubstep. As a DJ, Mikrodot focuses on physical impact and pacing rather than spectacle, crafting sets
designed to translate on proper sound systems. He has performed across more than half of the United States, building a dedicated following through immersive, low-end-driven performances that emphasize connection and atmosphere in the room.

ELECTRIC ISLAND ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #12

Ever since starting her long, strange trip in 2021, Mad Hazzard has blended a musical palate going back 60 years with a firm belief that all music is better with a bass drop. With a sound firmly rooted in experimental dubstep, Mad Hazzard moves between trap, melodic dubstep, wave, brostep, and anything else that will shake your bones.

With a belief that music should flow like silk, Mad Hazzard focuses on long blends, heavy lyrical focus, and uses her lightning stage presence to electrify the crowd and throw down on any stage she steps onto, from festival campground to Pride to FarmLands.
