The fair is celebrating 140 years of existence in 2026....
Some history trivia.
In 1911 Langlade County officials hired pilot John Schwister to fly his plane from
Wausau to Antigo and land at the county fair. It was the first instance of a person being paid to fly a plane in Wisconsin. This was in September, 1911.
